Big Brother: Episode 1

Big Brother 13 kicked off last night and boy was it good! There were 8 house guests who were shown getting keys to the BB house. The house guests are:

Kalie, who is from Los Angeles. She writes a blog on sex and relationships.

Porsche, from Miami. She works as a VIP cocktail waitress at an exclusive club in Miami.

Dominic, from San Mateo, California. He is a student, part-time model and full-time momma's boy.

Cassi, from Nashville. She is a model who enjoys fishing and drinking beers.

Lawon, from Englewood, California. He is a flamboyant legal clerk for an entertainment company in Los Angeles.

Keith, from Bolingbrook, Illinois. He is a deacon and HR manager with a love for the ladies!

Shelly, from Prairieville, Louisiana. She is a big time executive for a sporting goods company. She believes in looking pretty and working hard.

Adam, from Hoboken, New Jersey. He is a music inventory manager who loves heavy metal, broadway musicals and 90210.

The new house guests were informed that they would have to work together in teams. If one teammate wins the Head of Household competition, both teammates were Head of Household. Also, a team would be nominated for eviction as opposed to two separate houseguests. This will force teams to have to turn against each other and campaign against each other in order to stay int he BB house.

The house guests had very little time to get to know one another and pick their teammate. They paired up accordingly: Porsche and Keith, Dominic and Adam, Cassi and Shelly, and Lawon and Kalie.

After they paired up, they were informed that there would be yet another twist. Then, the doorbell began ringing with three dynamic duos from the past showing up! First, Rachel and Brendon showed up. The house guests were afraid of them because they won so many challenges and got very far with the house against them last season. Next, Jordan and Jeff came into the house. The house guests feared them, but like them as they were America's sweethearts. How could anyone not like them? Last, Dick and Danielle showed up. Dick was also known as "Evil Dick" on his season. Him and Danielle came in 1st and 2nd place on their season of BB.

After mingling, the house guests were called to compete in the first Head of Household competition (HOH). The challenge involved both teammates clinging onto a giant banana. They had to hang from the banana as long as possible. They were squirted with things such as chocolate and whipped cream while they held on. The first to drop was Shelly. She claimed she dropped first so as not to appear as a threat early on. After she dropped, others began dropping like flies. It came down to a competition between the veterans, Rachel and Danielle. Rachel cut a deal with Danielle and promised her that she was safe if she let go. Danielle trusted Rachel and let go, which allowed Rachel to win the first HOH competition for her and Brendon.

After Rachel and Brendon won, Julie appeared on their TV screen in the house with yet another twist to the game. The first eviction ceremony would grant whichever house guest stays, a golden key, which is essentially a free pass to week 10. The house guest with the golden key will not be able to be nominated for eviction and will not have to compete until week 10, although they will be able to vote in eviction ceremonies. Therefore, when placing someone up for eviction, Rachel and Brendon might want to focus more on who they want to stay in the competition, opposed to who they want to go home.

Big Brother is definitely going to get interesting with the duo theme this season. The newbies are all vowing to stick together to get rid of the veterans, but will they stick to their word?

The next episode of BB will air on Sunday night at 8 p.m. It will show the nomination ceremony as well as the Power of Veto competition. Stay tuned!
